Experience Easter

Here’s an update from Jean Burrows, who organised ‘Experience Easter’…

‘We have had a fantastic week in St Peter’s, nine classes, 270 children, hearing and engaging with the Easter story in a creative way through six sections of the Easter story.  It wouldn’t have been possible without the help of forty different helpers from five churches plus all the knitters of the Easter chicks.  We’ve had so many positive comments from staff, children and helpers, everyone felt it was a very worthwhile experience for children and adults.  Thank you also to everyone who came to the drop-in to see what we had been doing, it meant a lot to have your support.

This week Experience Easter goes on the road.  Monday we’re in St Michael’s Otterton for two sessions in the afternoon and All Saints East Budleigh on Tuesday afternoon for one session (the whole school of 32 in one go).’

If you would like to  see the stations you are very welcome:

Monday 31 March 3.15–4.15pm in Otterton Church

Tuesday 1 April 3.15–4.15pm in East Budleigh Church’

Chapel Working Party

The next chapel working party will be on Weds 2nd April from around 9.30am. There’s lots of different jobs that need doing, so if you’re able to pop in (even if only for a short time) it would be very much appreciated!

BMS World Mission

Nepal remains a fragile country both economically and geographically. This week we pray for the work of BMS World Mission’s partners in the country.

- March is the beginning of the tourist season in Nepal. Pray that tourists will come and help the economy grow. Pray also for those whose daily food depends on tourists visiting Nepal.

- Please pray for Christians across Nepal who gather to worship each Sunday. Pray for humble and bold leadership across Baptist churches and for disciples to grow in faith, hope and love.

- Pray for BMS mission worker Alan Barker as he continues to encourage the partnership and communications teams within BMS’ partner Human Development and Community Services. Pray also for Megan Barker,  training occupational therapists.

Giving

A massive thank you to everyone who gives regularly to support the church. We only survive through your generosity, so it is much appreciated!

If you'd like to give, there is an offering bag available in the chapel each week. If you'd rather give by standing order or another regular payment, there's lots of information on the church website here.

Alternatively, you can now give by text message:

  • To donate £5, text BSBC to 70970
  • To donate £10, text BSBC to 70191
Please note that you may not be able to give by text if you have a pay-as-you-go phone.

We also have gift aid forms available which will help us to claim back an extra 25p for every £1 you give, at no extra cost to you.
