Sunday 23rd June

Tomorrow we're gathering at the chapel and online at 10.30am as usual. We'll be worshipping, praying and reflecting on some of the themes of the upcoming general election together.

As part of the service we'll be learning a new song. Click the video below to familiarise yourself with it before you come.

For more info about our services please click here. We hope to see you there!

Annual Church Meeting

Just a reminder that our annual church meeting will be held on Sunday 30th June after the morning service. All are welcome, but please make an extra effort to be there if you are a member. Reports and other information for the meeting will be available soon.

As part of the meeting we'll be sharing lunch together. Please bring something to add to the table.

We have had three nominations for the diaconate - Hilary G, Rosie H and Penny M. There is space on the diaconate for all three, so you will be free to vote for as many as you feel is right. Please keep these ladies in your prayers over the next couple of weeks.

SWBA Event - The Creator's Creatives

We know that God is creative, does creative things and has imprinted his creativity in the heart of humanity. On Sat 29th June the SWBA is holding a day in Plymouth for creative people to come together, think and learn, and reflect on how to use their creativity to serve and worship God.

The day will include workshops with guest speakers, including spoken word poet, Dai Woolridge, singer & songwriter Cath Woolridge (SOW - Sound Of Wales), film-maker, Andy Thomas from The Fuelcast, songwriter Tim Judson, and canvas artist & sculptor, Fiona Spicer.

The day will culminate with an evening showcase with our special guests. This is open to all, even if you haven't attended the rest of the day.

SWBA Celebration & AGM

The South West Baptist Association is holding its own annual Celebration & AGM on Sunday 7th July at Upton Vale Baptist Church. The afternoon will begin at 1pm with lunch, followed by worship and the meeting at 2pm.

This is a chance to meet some of the other people who make up our family of churches, hear more about some of the exciting ways God is at work in the south west, and discern together how God might be calling the association to work in the future. Everyone is welcome - to sign up, please click here.

BMS World Mission

BMS’ collaboration with some of our global partners has led to new expressions of churches starting in North Africa and Asia. These churches provide an opportunity for God’s love, wisdom and power to be demonstrated in appropriate ways to the community. Let’s pray for the churches!

BMS contributes to the support of church planters reaching out to migrant communities. Please pray that these opportunities in Tours, Strasbourg and elsewhere in Europe will bear much fruit.

– Give thanks for the generosity and creativity of churches opening doors and hearts to provide assistance and welcome to many in need!

Let us pray for our own journeys: that we follow where God leads; that we take time to see if others need accompanying; and that we allow others to walk alongside us.

Giving

A massive thank you to everyone who gives regularly to support the church. We only survive through your generosity, so it is much appreciated!

If you'd like to give, there is an offering bag available in the chapel each week. If you'd rather give by standing order or another regular payment, there's lots of information on the church website here.

Alternatively, you can now give by text message:

  • To donate £5, text BSBC to 70970
  • To donate £10, text BSBC to 70191
Please note that you may not be able to give by text if you have a pay-as-you-go phone.

We also have gift aid forms available which will help us to claim back an extra 25p for every £1 you give, at no extra cost to you.

If you'd like any more information please speak to our treasurer, Liz.
