Weekly News

Sunday 14th July

We can't wait for Sunday, when we'll be baptising Toni as part of our Splash! service. The service will start at 10.30am at the chapel and online as usual.

If you've been thinking about getting baptised and would like to be on Sunday, it's not too late. Just get in touch and we'll chat through everything

The lunch plans for after the service have changed slightly. We're now going to have a bring and share lunch. If you can't bring anything then don't worry, you're still welcome to stay and eat. If you can bring something to add to the table, it would be very much appreciated! Please don't worry too much about what to bring - it can be homemade or shop bought, sweet or savoury, big, small or anywhere in between.

For more info about our services please click here. We hope to see you there!

Pathways Programme

The SWBA runs a series of modules every year offering basic training in theology, ministry and mission. The modules planned for the upcoming academic year will cover a variety of themes, including basic theology and doctrine, an introduction to the Old Testament, contemporary culture, working with children, youth and families, chaplaincy, pastoral care and preaching skills. They're a great way of growing in your faith and discipleship, as well as learning key skills to use in the church and community.

Anyone is welcome to join us for individual modules that take your fancy, Alternatively, you can sign up to complete the full course. For more information and dates, visit www.swbaptists.org.uk/pathways or have a chat with James.

BMS World Mission

Please lift up former mission workers in your prayers this week.

- Every person who has served with BMS in a mission capacity is eligible for membership of the Former Missionaries Association (FMA). Please pray that this message reaches those people so that the fellowship can continue to thrive.

- Linda King serves sacrificially in her role as FMA Secretary — one of a number of her commitments to BMS and to Baptist life in the UK. Please lift Linda up in prayer as she navigates all these commitments.

- Lift up the mission workers who came to the end of their service with BMS in the last year. God, you know your calling for the next chapters in their lives; may they know it too.

Giving

A massive thank you to everyone who gives regularly to support the church. We only survive through your generosity, so it is much appreciated!

If you'd like to give, there is an offering bag available in the chapel each week. If you'd rather give by standing order or another regular payment, there's lots of information on the church website here.

Alternatively, you can now give by text message:

  • To donate £5, text BSBC to 70970
  • To donate £10, text BSBC to 70191
Please note that you may not be able to give by text if you have a pay-as-you-go phone.

We also have gift aid forms available which will help us to claim back an extra 25p for every £1 you give, at no extra cost to you.

If you'd like any more information please speak to our treasurer, Liz.
