Weekly News

Sunday 7th July

On Sunday we'll be gathering to worship at 10.30am at the chapel and online as usual. This week we'll be thinking about covenant and being the body of Christ together, as we welcome our new members, commission our deacons, and share around the communion table together.

For more info about our services please click here. We hope to see you there!

Worship

SWBA Celebration & AGM

The South West Baptist Association is holding its own annual Celebration & AGM on Sunday 7th July at Upton Vale Baptist Church. The afternoon will begin at 1pm with lunch, followed by worship and the meeting at 2pm.

This is a chance to meet some of the other people who make up our family of churches, hear more about some of the exciting ways God is at work in the south west, and discern together how God might be calling the association to work in the future. Everyone is welcome - to sign up, please click here.

Baptism & BBQ

We can't wait for Sunday 14th July, when we'll be baptising Toni as part of our Splash! service. The plan is to have the service at the chapel, starting at 10.30am as normal. If the weather and sewage situation look good, everyone who can is then invited to join us on the beach, where we'll baptise Toni then enjoy a BBQ together. If the weather isn't so good, the baptism and lunch will both take place in the chapel.

We hope to see you there!

BMS World Mission

Please join us in prayer for Greece and Cyprus, where BMS is welcoming refugees and helping them reach safety.

- Pray that the team in Cyprus working with unaccompanied children will have the spiritual, physical and emotional resources needed to provide godly support.

- Give thanks for volunteers from the refugee community working with our partner on the Greek island of Lesbos. Pray that as people from other faiths work closely with followers of Christ, they would be touched by the Holy Spirit.

- Pray that Greece and Cyprus, and other countries on the edge of Europe, will be able to balance the needs of their citizens with providing welcome and refuge to those in need.

Giving

A massive thank you to everyone who gives regularly to support the church. We only survive through your generosity, so it is much appreciated!

If you'd like to give, there is an offering bag available in the chapel each week. If you'd rather give by standing order or another regular payment, there's lots of information on the church website here.

Alternatively, you can now give by text message:

  • To donate £5, text BSBC to 70970
  • To donate £10, text BSBC to 70191
Please note that you may not be able to give by text if you have a pay-as-you-go phone.

We also have gift aid forms available which will help us to claim back an extra 25p for every £1 you give, at no extra cost to you.

If you'd like any more information please speak to our treasurer, Liz.
