Walking Group – May ’19

On Thursday 9th May we have planned a circular woodland walk at Mamhead on the west side of the Exe estuary, starting as usual at 10.30am. Lunch is booked at the Tally Ho! in Countess Wear.

As it’s a bit further away it will be helpful if we can fill cars and not take more cars than we need to. The paths are gravelled so will be easy walking, the route is fairly level, and leads to good views over the estuary and Exmouth and Dawlish Warren.

It may be new to some of you so here are the directions for finding it …

Take the M5 westbound and onto the A38, then the A380 up Telegraph Hill towards Newton Abbot/Torquay.

At the top of the hill take the first exit and bear left onto this unclassified road towards Kenton and Cockwood.

After just one mile turn right, go across the crossroads and, after ¾ mile the car par is on the left hand side (parking is free).

If it is helpful, the grid reference for the car park is SX 921807 (OS Explorer Map 110 Torquay & Dawlish).

All are welcome to join us – for more details please speak to Graham or Maureen, or if you’d like to come please sign up on the sheet on the Information Table.
