All 50 of our Light Party Bags have been delivered to different families this week. As you can see from the photos, the children seemed to be really enjoying them and we've had loads of good feedback. Even if you didn't manage to get a bag, you can see a bit more about them and join in with some of the activities by visiting the Light Party page on our website here. A big THANK YOU to everyone who donated to help make these bags happen. Because of your generosity this has been a great way of blessing the community.

Remembrance Sunday

The usual plans for Remembrance Sunday have had to change this year. There will be NO wreath laying ceremony or service at St. Peter's on Sun 8th November. Instead all wreaths will be laid by members of the Royal British Legion in a much smaller ceremony at a different time. We will incorporate a two minute silence as usual into the morning service.

There is expected to be a short ceremony at the War Memorial at 11am on Wednesday 11th November. However, this may change depending on the COVID restrictions in place at the time.

BMS Prayers for the Week

One privilege of being human is that God created us as stewards of his world. At BMS World Mission, we offset all our travel into our Eco-Challenge Fund. With this we finance projects directly combatting climate change. Pray that our work will broaden people's understanding of the link between faith and the environment.

  • At Bardaï hospital in northern Chad, BMS doctors Mark and Andrea Hotchkin have installed solar panels to boost their ability to store medicines and run equipment. Pray for their capacity to treat patients ever more efficiently.
  • Pray for Laura-Lee Lovering in Peru, training pastors from Amazonian riverside communities in agro-forestry. Pray that through their community leadership the forest will be farmed responsibly.
  • Praise God that BMS' partner in Sri Lanka has been able to use our Eco-Challenge Fund to turn their offices into an award-winning green space. Pray for their ongoing community development and child protection ministry throughout the country.
