Mission Sunday

Stronger Together Logo (500px)Yesterday we participated in ‘Mission Sunday’, a special day initiated by the South West Baptist Association to help churches across our region share stories of how they are reaching their communities, support each other and spend some time praying for each other.

The day also saw the launch of the Stronger Together Mission Fund, which is a new resources administered by the SWBA and designed to give small grants to help churches in their mission. As a church we have given a gift to this fund. To find out more about Mission Sunday or the Stronger Together Fund, visit the website here.

As part of our service, we watched two videos from Watchet Baptist Church, which you can see again below. The first shows the prayer tent which WBC have been running for the last few years at the Watchet Music Festival. The second shows some of the activities which happen The Sanctuary, a high street community space which the church opened a couple of years ago.

James gave a short reflection on The Great Commission, which can be heard below:

Afterwards, we spent some time discussing some of the ways in which we in Budleigh could reach out to our community. Various ideas were suggested and will be explored further, but we are keen that this is be a conversation which carries on over the next few weeks and months. If you have ideas about what you’d like to see us doing, or would like to know how you can get involved, please speak to James or Julia.
