Lent 2021

This Lent we want to journey and grow together in our discipleship of Christ.

We're going to be doing this in a number of different ways, including encouraging everyone to engage in a daily rhythm of Bible reading and prayer, weekly opportunities to pray together, and reflections based on our Sunday services.

Keep reading for more details and to find out how you can get involved.

Daily Patterns of Prayer

In a time when our corporate worship is scattered and we cannot be together, engaging in a regular pattern of personal prayer and seeking God is more important than ever.

Below we've offered some ideas of resources you could use to help you pray and reflect this Lent. Some are more like traditional Bible reading notes, others offer a daily liturgy or offer the chance to reflect on Bible passages in a different way. Do try them out and let us know how you get on!

We know that many of you already have your own resources - like daily reading notes - which is great! However, you might want to use Lent to try a different resource or way of praying. You might discover a new form of spirituality which you find helpful, or encounter God through something a bit less familiar.

Lectio 365

The Lectio 365 app is created by the 24/7 prayer organisation. You'll need a smartphone or tablet to use it.

It offers a chance to pause each day and reflect on Scripture. The prayers are available as text or audio recording.

Northumbria Daily Prayer

These include Scripture readings, a chance to give the day to God and afterwards reflect on all that has happened. The prayers are available as a printed book, e-book or online.
