Zoom
Zoom is free video conferencing software. The big advantage is that everyone taking part can see and hear each other, which makes it great for trying to do more interactive activities. We will be using Zoom, in the first instance, for our Family Worship on Sunday mornings and Tuesday Prayer Meetings.
To use Zoom on a computer, tablet or smartphone:
- You will need to download and install Zoom on the device you want to use it on. For computers click here, for Android devices click here, for Apple devices click here. After that, follow the onscreen prompts to install the software.
- The links for the different Zoom meetings are available in our church emails which will be sent out at least once a week. Regular meetings are also listed on the relevant pages of our website. Click here for Tuesday Prayer Meetings and here for Family Worship times. If your small group decides to meet via Zoom, the leader will send out a link to group members. Once you have the software installed, click one of these links to go to the meeting.
- If you’re on a computer you may need to check you’ve got speakers, microphone and webcam before taking part. If you don’t have a microphone or webcam you will be able to hear what is happening but not speak to everyone. Most smartphones/tablets/laptops have these things built in.
- If you’re having trouble there’s lots of tutorials and guides on the Zoom website, which you can find by clicking here. We will also do the best we can to help over the phone, so do give James & Julia a ring if you need help!
