Advent Prayers

Advent is a time of waiting. Not rushing to the celebration of Christmas, but allowing ourselves to linger for a while longer in the darkness. Being willing to name our struggles and the suffering of the world. Praying, in hopeful anticipation, for the coming of the new day.

This year it seems more poignant than ever to observe Advent. Christmas will be very different to normal, and many of us find ourselves entering this season with a sense of loss, of grief and of uncertainty about what the future might hold.

We invite you to join us each week for a short time of prayer as we light the Advent candle, pause to reflect before God, and invite him to fill us with a sense of hope in his promises being fulfilled. It doesn't matter if you have never prayed before - God is always listening and ready to hear and welcome us.

If you would like to talk or pray more with someone, please don't hesitate to get in touch with James & Julia on 01395 443137 or enquiries@budleighbaptistchurch.org.uk.
