Rebecca is a staff nurse who trained in Leeds, and worked there for a few years before moving to the Bradford Royal Infirmary in their Accident and Emergency department.
After training with BMS, Rebecca travelled to Chad in mid-September 2011. Here she was a BMS long-term worker, helping BMS doctors Andrea and Mark Hotchkin as they set up a new hospital in N’Djamena, the capital.
Her home church is South Parade Baptist Church, Leeds.
UPDATE: In August 2015 Rebecca finished her term of service with BMS and has returned to the UK. As a church we were fortunate to be able to host Rebecca for a weekend, during which she shared many of the highs and lows of her time overseas, as well as something of the exciting future for the hospital in Chad. We have since heard that Rebecca has found a job working in a clinic for vulnerable people in Bradford. Both she and the Guinebor II hospital in Chad remain in our thoughts and prayers.
